Professional Triathlete Training Log - Weekly Swim, Bike, and Run Miles For Feb 18 - Feb 24

The Start of the Great Tucson Blizzard of 2013
The Great Tucson Blizzard of 2013
Well if you hadn't heard, it snowed here in Tucson this week. Although it often snows up in the mountains, for the first time since I have been here we actually had accumulating snow on the ground in the city. In all truthfulness, this has to be the worst weather for January and February ever, and by my count we have had only 4 days at normal February temps. Now, as I have spoken about before, I'll race in anything, but as far as general training goes, well I'm not a huge fan of training in colder temperatures. With the being said, I got the work done.

Snow Swim
This week I finally decided on my first race and I'm excited to announce that I'll be racing at Ironman Cabo in about 3 weeks. It doesn't give me a lot of time to get prepared and I'm not sure I'll get the exact quantity of bike volume I would have liked, but I'll have to make do with what I can get done. Part of the decision to commit to this race had to do with my calf strain that I picked up a few week back. I continued to progressively increase the load all week and it is feeling a lot better and overall I'm feeling quite confident with my swim/run.

Here are my weekly swimbike, and run totals:

Total: 243 Miles / 24 hours 28 minutes
Swim: 28,600 yards / ~16 miles / 7 hours 40 minutes
Bike: 175 miles / 11 hours 0 minutes
Warmth & Recovery
Run: 51 miles /  6 hours 18 minutes
Core:  0 sessions / 0 hours 0 minutes
