Professional Triathlete Training Log - Weekly Swim, Bike, and Run Miles For Aug 6 - Aug 12

Getting our power on at Rev3 Dells w/AJ Baucco
This week I started to wind down my volume and intensity in preparations for a a "big block" of  training racing. While many coaches believe in athletes racing only a few races, I have always pretty much believed the opposite.  At this point my development, is all about that, simply development.  Until I'm a world class athletes that needs to show up at a race with a certain set of expectations of winning, I will continue to advance my abilities and testing them thru frequent racing.  That doesn't mean I go out and hammer myself into the ground but every race I do has a very specific purpose.

As for training specifics, well it was business as usual in the earlier part of the week as I focused on a lot of shorter race efforts in preparation for my race at the inaugural Rev3 Wisconsin Dells half-Ironman triathlon.  This mainly consisted of 4x8 on the bike at 70.3 race effort, 7x800 on the run at 70.3 effort.  I took a rest day on Friday and it was perfect timing as I had a high-performance SSD hard drive fail on me earlier in the week and it gave me a chance to rebuild my computer.  I throw that in there because yes, SSD hard drives can fail, so back them up.  I also took a lighter Saturday which included biking to the pool with a couple of 3 min race efforts mixed in, and then a short 1500 meter swim with 5 descending 100s.

A full write-up my Rev3 Wisconsin Dells race is to come.
